Extend Wifi Range with Grid Reflector

The focal point can roughly be calculated as diameter^2 / (depth * 16). Thus a bent grid 40cm wide between the tips so that the depth is 16cm on a standard y=x^2 parabole needs the antenna 10cm from the back. A reflector with gridlines less than 1/10 wave spacing i.e. 12mm for 2.4GHz appears as a solid reflective surface for the radio signal.
Enhanced Antenna using BBQ Braai Grid

Extend the range easily and simply using a reflector to concentrate the radio signal onto the antenna. Here I have used a grid from a BBQ braai bent to form a parabolic shape on the horisontal plane. Use some plastic tubing to mount the antenna infront of the reflector. This on one end only already doubled the range and transmission rate... installing these on both ends will give even better results.
    Simple Wire Mesh Enhanchement

Yes, it is this simple... without the need to damage or interefere with your standard antenna. This is a 30cm wide piece of wire mesh bend in a parabolic shape and the antenna strapped with cable ties on a piece of polystyrene foam.
